Virginia Park Lodge

Welcome to our corner of paradise in County Cavan. Virginia Park Lodge is the heart and soul of The Park Cafe. A recently restored 18th Century hunting lodge set in 100 acres of the most pristine Irish countryside. Fit with kitchen garden - the aptly named Gooseberry Gardens - It's the driving force behind our menus.

Pouring love and care into the land has blessed us with healthy, rich soil and unbeatable produce. Pair this with some spoiled pigs, an enviable chicken coop and a talented array of kitchen minds; good seasonal grub is guaranteed.

From checking in Chef's kitchen bins during prep for wastage, serving biodynamic and small grower's wines at Lindsay House over 30 years ago (before it was cool) to Virginia Park Lodge where they practise a no waste philosophy with their hot composting and polytunnel operations. Richard has not forgotten his farming roots... "the goal is to be as nature intended and this is my food philosophy...'source local and keep it simple'."

We like good grub. This means getting stuck in and not being afraid to do things differently.
